CHAPTER 15

READY OR NOT

DANITY

Loud bass and vibrations caused me to jump out of the peaceful sleep I was in. I looked around confused trying to figure out where I was. When my eyes landed on the large oil painting of Kay Kay and Kayne, the events of last night came rushing back to me. I was on the couch at his house.

"You ain't shit...and ya sister ain't shit...and ya mammy ain't shit," I heard Kayne rapping the lyrics of some song I’d never heard before.

"Kayneeee!" I yelled, hoping he’d hear me over the music. "KAYNE! Turn that shit down," I roared.

Kayne walked into the room and bit into the peach he was holding. "What?" he asked.

Closing my eyes, I threw my arm across my face. "Can you turn that shit down I have a migraine."

"And you the same hoe sitting waiting on me like I'm yo WIC bitch please," he continued rapping, walking away as if I hadn’t said anything to him.

He didn't bother turning off the music or even lowering the volume. I swear this had to be the most ignorant nigga in life. Releasing a frustrated breath, I stood to my feet and the room spun. I shielded my eyes from the sun coming through the open blinds. I would bet my bottom dollar that Kayne opened them on purpose knowing I would be hung over. My head was pounding and my mouth felt like cotton. I was in desperate need of an aspirin and apparently, a shower because between my thighs and ass felt sticky.

I looked around for the source of the music and spotted the entertainment center in the corner. Snatching the cord out from the outlet, I turned to go back to the couch. Before I could sit down, Kayne stormed into the room like a mad man.

His eyes lowered to slits before he spoke. “What the fuck you doin’ my nigga?”

I rolled my eyes at his stupid question. “What the fuck does it look like I’m doing? I told your extra dumb ass I got a migraine,” I snapped, rubbing my temples.

“Ain’t nobody told yo non-drinking ass to get sloppy drunk,” he said, chuckling.

“Shut up nigga, and where is Kay Kay?” I asked.

“She with Letti.” He shrugged.

I tilted my head to the side, looking him in the eyes. “I thought I told you to fire her ass last night?” I seethed through clenched teeth.

“Man gon’ on with the bullshit. I wasn’t listening to your retarded ass,” Kayne nonchalantly spoke.

An angry chuckle escaped my lips. “If you know what’s best for you, Kay Kay will be home and that bitch will be fired by the end of the day. Now get your ass out my face,” I spoke, dismissively.

Turning away he started walking to his room. “Ha you funny as hell, fuck you Danity!” he threw over his shoulder.

“Nah nigga, that’s why you salty because I won’t fuck you,” I said to his back.

Instead of a response, Kayne slammed his bedroom door shut. I’m sure he was pissed off but I didn’t care, my only concern right now was a shower and more sleep.
